Today a Plan for Digital Health and Social was announced by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Sajid Javid and is part of the Department of Health and Social Care's plan to transform health and social care using digital and data technologies.
It sets out an ambitious agenda for the health and care sector, to transform how care is provided by taking advantage of digital technologies to drive innovation and efficiencies, including faster treatment and diagnosis for patients to tackle the Covid backlog.
The plan includes the NHS App roadmap that sets out how it will become a ‘front door’ to NHS services over the coming years.
The plan for digital health and social care sets out a vision for a digitally enabled health and social care system and how we can achieve it – it collates existing digital strategies, plans and guidance into one single action plan.
It is aimed at health and social care leaders across the system, and industry partners to help them plan for the future.
